Gene Wilder

Post by DarkStranger »

New to the forums, so if this has been published elsewhere, at an earlier time I apologize. How is Mr. Pryor's relationship with Gene Wilder these days? These two, together where fucking unbelievable, and I am not savvy on anything published recently about the relationship between them. I have heard recently that a new version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is in the works, and I believe in all brutal honesty that this is a motherfucking tragedy. My opinion on the whole remake thing is, if the original sucked and you could do better, then hell remake it, but if the fucking movie is a classic, then leave it the fuck alone. Anyone have an opinion or information I would appreciate it.

DarkStranger,
The truth is Richard and Gene were great, on screen. Otherwise, Gene is a pompous one who is a legend in his own mind!

Jennifer,
That is so sad. They were great together on screen. I guess it's too much to hope they would be great off-screen as well. As least Richard is. And, yes, the remakes are awful. I keep thinking, "If only they could do it right." And then they don't.

Jennifer,

Those movies with them two are great. I remember my family going to see "see no evil hear no evil" in the movie theater for my birthday when I was 14. My mom was the religious type who didn't much care for R rated movies with fouul language. I remember thinking after they drop the F-bomb about three times she's going to walk out. She ended up laughing the whole time and enjoying the movie. The next year I pushed my luck and we saw "Adventures of Ford Fairlane". Needless to say she din't quite embrace Andrew Dice CLay as well as she did Richard, bad move on my part. I believe that I am rambling but it's a forum so fuck it. Any opinions on Dice Clay from you two?

Jennifer,
That's nice to hear. I always laughed my ass off at him - even when he was pissin' me off!

Jennifer,
Gene Wilder seems weird to me. He had a lovely afro though I'll give him that.

Jennifer,

I hear Gilda Radner's death changed him big time.
