NickFlanagan,
The last person I saw perform at a comedy club was Kevin Pollak last year. I was a big fan of his and his stand up so I really looked forward to seeing him. I was really disapointed with his act. He's a movie star now(well sort of) so I guess stand up may be playing second fiddle.

Bingolong, Astanomous,
Thanks for encouraging a dude!
RS mayton,
I've never seen Kevin Pollak live, but have seen some footage of his standup. I'm not a huge fan, but I remember liking his impressions. Sorry to hear the show sucked. I have a hard time finding live standup I'm totally into. But alot of the names you guys have said sound great, and I really want to check them out. I wanna check out guys like Giraldo, Nick Swardson and Jim Norton, as well as a bunch of others.
I also recommend folks give the new David Cross album a listen. It's called It's Not Funny, and it's an excellent, topical(but not overly so--there's no Aflac punchlines), funny album. People are criticising the record for having similar themes as his last album, but his last album came out only last year, so now wonder he's talking about the same shit, especially when it's centred around the issues of America, considering alot of shit's the same, if not scarier.
I also just saw Blazing Saddles in full for the first time and it was fuckin HYSTERICAL. For the longest time I thought it was another Spaceballs-style Brooks movie(not that I don't like Mel Brooks), But Richard"Man in Charge"Pryor's writing(or at least what I suspect are his jokes) are as sharp and hilarious as ever.
