Hey all,
I may be crazy here, but in the mid-eighties HBO did a special called "60 Years of Stand-Up" hosted by Carll Reiner, and if I'm not mistaken there were clips of Pryor in that show as well. If anyone remembers the show, let me know.

Jim Mendrinos,
Check this out,I don't see a credit for Richard Pryor to confirm if he was a part of this special but I think this might be what you are looking for:

I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!

bingolong,
My god, I can't believe you found that. It looks like the show, only my mind cannot let itself believe that you could have a documentary on great stand-ups and not include Pryor.
But it was from 1984, so chances are the producers were as high as everyone else was back then -- that's the only way I can imagine them leaving richard out.

Jim Mendrinos,
Hey while we are on the subject of TV specials I was wondering if anyone had access to the tribute "A Party For Richard Pryor".It seems like I remember that being the first time he let everybody know that he "AIN'T DEAD YET MOTHERFUCKERS!!!" It was very much like the tribute they had for Sammy Davis Jr. before he died which was probably why he had to let people know he wasn't going nowhere!!

bingolong,
I know what special you're talking about. I loved it but I have no idea how people like us could get our hands on it. I remember noticing Eddie Murphy being absent and that's when I realized something had obviously gone down between them. I don't know what it was and I don't want to know cause it ain't NONE of my business...that's between Mr. P., Eddie and God.
But I wll say I do think it's SAD:( I was only about 13 when Eddie really 1st started to blow up in 4986 and I remember seeing interview after interview where when asked who inspired him to want to become a stand up comedian, his response was always.."Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor."
