Don't change 'The Black Forum'

Please don't change the name "The Black Forum." To change it would be to give in to pollitically correct pressure. Do we care if everybody feels 100% comfortable? I know I don't. Isn't that the point of the warning when you enter. If you're too sensitive, get the fuck out! I never saw a PC side of Richard, so why change it to make a few people feel more comfortable. Why not hip them to what's happening and bring them into the fold?

Remember, Black IS Beautiful!

I do admit I am a sensitive one but I'm not gonna apologize for it.

Also I didn't mention that the name made me feel uncomfortable to be "Politically Correct", I mentioned it b/c it made me feel unwelcomed.

Beyond learning about Richard Pryor, this site is all about healing and growing. How can people heal and grow if they don't feel welcome?

I completely agree with and understand Dumbass' point about wanting to learn more about the Black community, we ALL want that but do we want it at the expense of anyone feeling excluded?

Mr. Pryor's material taught me SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much about the Black community and even though he's a black man, talking about the black experience, I NEVER once felt as if I weren't supposed to listen.

THAT is the beauty & BRILLIANCE of his work.

I'd just like to feel that same beauty and brilliance here

Maybe the name should be "THE BLACK AND WHITE FORUM" b/c it's "read" all over.......the forum that is!!!It would show some diversity and just like a newspaper we are talking about news and different topical events.....well it seemed like a good idea a few lines back......

But if not a name change just amend the desciption as dumbass suggested.I mean it doesn't matter as long as we have a place to express and discuss these ideas.So much of the site is about comedy but there were times in Rich's act were he got serious and talked about serious issues.
(Like the one were GOD is asking who killed his son and JFK etc.-deep and thought-provoking)

That's the essence of comdy writing ya know...taking your listener down a path and then switchen it up in the blink of an eye. The more I do it the better I get but I'm still my own worst critic.

Huh....for real......I thought you was one of those "high yallars"!!!!!

But like I said also cbreeze is a white guy and he created the forum.I don't care if you call it "The White Forum" just as long as we gota place to talk about controversial shit (like this issue) you know?

Plus I intially though that this may cause an issue but I figured people would read the cbreeze's initial post that started it and the description of the forum.I know from other aspects in life that the term "Black" can be a slight turnoff....

Like a dog, I'm colorblind to race and lick my own balls because I can. Actually I can't... I wish I could. But on to the issue at hand.

I honestly never even thought that the word "Black" as a reference to the forum was actually in reference to the color of one's skin or a specific racial issue so this hadn't even occured to me until it was brought up.

I've seen the word/term used countless times to describe an issue or door that most people didn't want to discuss or open so I personally don't see anything wrong with it.

Why was that one Beatles album called 'the white album'? Why is everyone always dreaming of a 'White Christmas'? Why are they trying to always talk us into separating the colors from the whites in our laundry? A racial conspiracy? Probably not... Black can be the color of a crayon, it's the color of electrical tape, it's the other half of a blue eye after a knuckle sandwich, it's the color of my computer desk, chair and so forth.

It would be like the Smurfs asking someone not to refer to a blue sky as being blue. I think it's fine the way it is. Of course, we all don't see through the same windshield, but that's just my opinion on it all.
