MARLEY FEST
MSN is doing a live webcast of Marley Fest at 7pm eastern. If you're a Marley fan like me you'll be checking it out.
Now that Johnnie's gone, I guess I should start being nice to the cops.
Re: MARLEY FEST
robfharris,
MSN don't support Firefox or Mac. they need to wake up. but it's a Microsoft thing.
a few years ago I went to a summer concert in a park in San Jose, I wish I could remember the band's name from Jamaica which turned the house out. but their last song was a tribute to Marley - Redemption Song a capella.
the audience took over, the singer dropped the mike and just hugged the band while singing along. it was amazing and made you realize how serious and powerful Marley's music will always be.
because just before this, the crowd was all wild and freaky dancing to dancehall reggae, but then the tone got serious
the most beautiful part is there were people of all nationalities, religions, cultures, countries, etc. including children -- everyone around, including kids, whether sitting or standing stopped what they were doing and was singing the song word for word. when it was over everyone was smiling and greeting each other like wow, humans
and the event ended beyond peacefully.
the unison singing was so loud, the security guard a few blocks away asked what had happened when we went back to parking garage to leave. said he ain't never heard singing that loud. I just told him, but he had to be there to see it.
NOW THAT WAS LITERALLY 'ONE LOVE'!
