Nipsey Russell was truly a gem. Don't forget this cat. If you don't know about him pick the book On the Real Side by Mel Watkins. Check out Game show network. He was a regular on the old Match Game. An d he was the only black guy on Car 54 Where are you?! And The Wiz?! C'mon!

I remember him! Loved him on the game shows. I think I even remember him from an episode of Love American Style. I even named one of my cats after him because as a kitten they looked alike

I just wish someone could have sat down with comics like Nipsey, Flip Wilson, George Kirby, Mantan Moreland, Redd, Slappy, Skillet & Leroy, Lawanda Paige,Pigmeat, etc and just picked thier brains for just an hour. That would be one helluva book or documentary. Could you imagine?

Yeah, Nipsy was the man! Another great light gone from the world. To see him do "The Tin Man" in "The Wiz" is priceless!
