I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!

I read that Dave sold 500,000 copies on the first day of the Season 2 DVD.

amp-d,
He's a superstar and he's just getting used to it. Chris Rock in an interview once talked about how after he attained success, he also had a breakdown of sorts where he couldn't trust anyone and was skeptical of any human contact for fear he may be fleeced. He said this hindered his project in 2000 "Bigger and Blacker" which he admitted was sub par because he was expected to churn out material when his mind was not in a creative mode.
Bingo,
My favoritve album of all-time. I still play it weekly. Midnight Marauders got all the love. But Low End Theory was a masterpiece.

Re: Back Stateside
amp-d, I think that's what prompted Comedy Central to
lay that 50 mil on Dave,
having people expect your work to justify that kinda cash would have an "effect" on any man.
Hopefully He's figured out how to stay in control , and get back into his groove , I for one am looking forward to some more of his laughter..

Anditsdeeptoo,
Ditto!!Although their 1st three albums were straight up classic "Low End" is the one!!!Alot of good jazz and other different vibes that make it so listenable 14 years later!!!
I remember in '90 I was in South Carolina and dubbed(back before CD burners we only had double cassette)a copy of my fav group at the time,Public Enemy, for my cousin. In return he copied the 1st album for the group that would take P.E.'s place: Tribe Called Quest!!!
...but back on topic
They reaired Chappelles recent standup on Showtime and it was great!!!

bcddjjsc690,
Do you think the money added pressure? I could see it as a huge burden but also as a release, that he finally made it big time, doesn't have to worry about money and could just work on his art. The money justifies his greatness, not the other way around. He doesn't seem to feel that way though.
