just an idea, because I've found that internet writing leagues, whether they're rap, poetry, or story are EXTREMELY effective for improving the writing and overall ability of the particular craft you practice...
I thought this same thing could apply to comedy...
My proposed idea is a league in which contestants are matched together and each writes a comedy set, in which peaople come in and vote on the best one, while at the same time offering critique and helpful advice... Then we could have a crowned champ and perhaps it could grow a bit because I don't know if this type of league is being done on the internet at all as of now... It'd be great for developing comics though...
what do you guys think?

I like the concept, but isn't a huge part of comedy in the delivery? I think the the writing medium eliminates the important aspects of voice inflection that can make an otherwise stale joke, hilarious.

well, it wouldn't serve the purpose of working on that, some of those things are just natural, it's to help in the development of good material and writing good material...
