I was doin' that shit back in '74 when "That Nigger's Crazy" first came out. (I was 12, and in the 7th grade. My best friend at the time hipped me to it, to whom I will be forever grateful.)
If you were a black kid from the mid-to-late '70s, the release of new Richard Pryor albums were Events, just like when Stevie Wonder would drop a new one. And tons of white kids were hip to it, too!
