I can remember as a child, sneaking into my grandfather's card house and playing old Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx albums on my grandfather's phonograph. At the age of 9, my parents weren't the least bit happy when they caught me. 23 years have passed since I was introduced to the hilarious comedy of Richard Pryor. I have seen every movie, live comedy specials, and have enjoyed every one. Having come from a stuffy white conservative family, the humor and wit of Richard Pryor was a breath of fresh air. Harlem Nights is my favorite movie of all time. I remember the first time I saw it, my mother left the room about 10 minutes into the show, and once she did, my father sat and nearly pissed his pants laughing at Richard. I will NEVER forget how much Richard's humor got me through some of the roughest and depressing times in my life. With his humor, I drew strength and for that I am eternally grateful. Richard, thank you.
