Hello Jennifer,
Horse racing is pretty big in the Uk,I don't know how big it is in the states but do you and all reading this think horse racing is cruel as most people I speak to over here think it is not.The horses seem to get treated well generally but I do not agree with the use of a whip to make them go faster and also if they are injured during a race, sometimes they get put down which is tragic. However I am abit of a hypocrite as today I am going to the races for the pub's annual day out and once again find myself asking if I should really be going.I don't particularly enjoy horse racing as a spectator sport I just enjoy the day out with my friends, having a drink and a chat etc, this i could do elsewhere other than at the races of course it's just an excuse for all to meet and get pissed,so what do you think about this am I going to hell!
Regards Wayne

saintgooner,
This is becoming an increasingly complex topic---the whole business of racing...

Re: Horse racing
saintgooner,
I like horse racing. I'm not a man who goes to the track, but I'll watch the triple crown races. A horse in full run is a beautiful thing. As long as the horses are treated well... I've heard stories about how a horse isn't acting right and they find a sponge stuck up a nostril (restrict the airflow and they won't run as good, then your horse has a better shot)
At any rate, horse racing is much better than car racing. Now that I don't understand (other than for spectacular crashes!)
