I've got no real reason to post, but I can't seem to get my butt downstairs and pack a years worth of stuff in two suitcases. I'm leaving Germany on sunday (thank fucking god!), but I really, really, really need to do that. I've stayed on the computer all day thinking that I have a reason to be online, when in reality...I don't. I'm just avoiding work...
I'm gonna miss legal beer, absinthe, cuban cigars...umm...whatelse...maybe that's all.
But the US still has bush as king, right? I knew it wasn't a nightmare! There was a reason I was in another country...
Oh yeah, and I felt I needed to post something to keep up with all you postin' fools out there...
I'm glad to be leaving because I've been here since August of last year and I'm just sick and tired of having to deal with a family...that's not mine. The joys of an exchange student. Germany is really a cool place, it's just I want to get back stateside. Berlin is awesome (was there last week), Bonn and Köln are pretty cool. München is the stereotype of Germany--interesting. Germany is great and I've done so many things over here that I'm proud of, but I've got three days plus a long ass trip and then I have comedy central once more!
Besides, I wanna be there for all the voting--we don't need any more of that party in the white house.
And posting my pic was sort of because of you. You, Jen, Bingo, nick. I just felt why not? Everyone else has a face...
jane_haze,
I wish I could have gotten to some of those places on my trip over there.I enjoyed being in Germany alot but I was only over there two weeks and I guess after nearly a year I'd be ready to come back to.(The only thing was I missed the 100 top stand up special with Rich as #1 on Comedy Central,Drats!!!b.b)
So where are you off to now?
I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!
I met a German woman on the train here in NYC. She was a strange one... When I first saw her I thought, "Kinda cute, but she looks to have a screw loose." She asked for directions (the trains were all screwed up) and I realized that she was just German. After talking to her for a minute I realized that she was German [/i]and[/i] crazy. It can happen you know!
The funny thing is, she was a black woman, from Germany, and was bitching to me about how racist America is!
JTF,
You know what I kind of feel her on that,Germany seemed much more liberated in that aspect than I expected. It was weird but I felt way more comfortable their than I would have ever expected.

But other than the accents (that threw me off also,I'm not used to Black people talking nothing but ebonics;p )But I think what she probably saw was the underlying things that we are conditioned to in America that don't standout.I guess to her it would like you going from NYC to Alabama it's just different.
I had a friend who moved from here to Charleston SC and she felt a complete different social climate there as far as how racism was handled.I guess certain things will just stick out for somebody that is foreign to a region or country.
