How many of you have heard this album? I just wanted to get some thoughts on it, cus I haven't heard anyone mention it on the boards. It's one of my favorites...can't get enough of it.

Hey Jennifer, is there a release date for all the old Laff albums that you're re-releasing? I still wanna hear that Black Ben the Blacksmith.

cire,
That's one of the things I am working on-it's to be called Evolution-Revolution the early years and it's the Laff stuff-only 2 cd's though, the rest I'm going to be out ourselves and sell online-(I had to sue to get this shit back-outlaws had their grubby hands on it!)
For fall release!

Jennifer,
cool. can't wait to get it. Was Loose Cannon and Laff the same thing...I noticed both names on 'Craps', and some of the old Laff albums?

I can't believe none of you Pryor heads in here have heard this album.
:(

cire,
I thought we talked about some of this, me and you? I've got a copy of "Craps" on vinyl that I dug up but it's a fucked up pressing. On one side is Rich and on the other is some comic that I never caught the name of.It was depressing so I haven't pulled that one out since the '90's.I 've also got a tape from Laff called "Who Me I'm Not Him" but the tape locks up at a certain point so I haven't heard alot of it (I think some of the material is or is like some of the material on "Richard Pryor" Disc one in the box set)!!! b.b

Besides I need all my Pryor on hifi-digital audio.
Jennifer I can't wait until this fall bring it on!!!!!! :)

bingolong,
Damn, that's old school. How old are you B? Vinyl, and tapes(that lock up). But yeah, I think Who Me, and Supernigger both have some of that old self titled album's material on them. But the Craps album is one of my tops. Tracks 23-25, the after hours sketch is one the best. He sets the whole scene of an after hours craps game, and does about 8 different characters throughout it. It's beautiful. Very dynamic. I can see the whole thing going down. I laugh every time I listen to it. It's a must have album for sure.

SweetLuchia,
When you're B-day? I might hook you up. ;) I seem to run into this album more than you'd expect. I saw one at circuit city bout a month ago.

cire,
Man I've been digging in the crates since the eighties going thru other peoples music collections, stealing all the good shit!! That's how I really began to appreciate Richard "the stand-up" and not Richard the "movie star" when I came up on "That Nigger's Crazy"!!I thought I fell up on the motherload when I found "Craps" on vinyl!! I haven't seen it on sell around here in awhile but I will definitely be getting this shit that is dropping this fall!!!! :)

cire,
Loose Cannon licnesed in the early 90's(before my watch), illegaly from the outlaws I ended up going after!
So some stuff was out there.
This new anthology will be kool, cause I found a guy who had some rare interviews Richard had done in the early 70's and we're putting some of that on this piece and the producers,Reggie Collins with Steve Pokorny, who did the big boxset and the last anthology are the best; edit the stuff brilliantly-some other surprises will be on there as well.

I never got any of those cds. They looked like bootlegs to me with several cds having essentially the same material. The only thing I have from the "unofficial" material is the lp for l.a. jail that i got for a buck at a used record shop...

JTF,
I know what you mean. A lot of them do look like bootlegs. Craps was the only one that looked real out of them old ones to me, which is why I got it. I'm glad I did though.
