how good was Rich?

I was talking to some folks at this poetry show, they were commenting on my Mr P tshirt. They asked me as a comic how what I thought about Rich. And I said "he's the only stand up comic that is so good that when I watch him I just get discouraged". And that's true, When I watch Rich, I'm thinking how in the hell is anyone ever going to touch that? I bet that's how every boxer that's been around since Ali has felt.

You shouldn't get discouraged Bro , you should be inspired .
It's not like you have to go on stage after him ,that would be discouraging .
If you wish to honor what TMIC is about , you should continue to carry the torch he lit , the world can use the light,and comedy fans will respect you for you , unless you plagarize ,and serve up a watered down copy that doesn't have heart , An audience can smell a faker , keep it real ,find your niche ,be original ,be yourself. There's only one you , you'll be fine .( And remember me when you make it big , I'd like a ride on some golden coattails )

Richard loved anybody who was real...and that's all you have to do/be...honest...be you...it will all work!!
And we all loved Richard because he showed his heart, his soul, his pain...he fuckupness...we love it all cause it's real!

To me, Richard was the realist of the real, said what the F^&*K he meant and meant what he said.
That is what I am taking about!
