filming has started with Jesse L. Martin (from Law & Order, Alley McBeal)
can't wait to see it and hope it does justice to an icon like Marvin

Nice, I've felt for the last couple of years he looks a lot like Marvin Gaye. Nice choice.

Yeah I saw on a talk show like Tony Danza that he was really working getting that as his dream role....Congrats to him!!!

i had to go to yahoo to see what this guy looked like an he does look like Marvin Gaye.....an he has credits as a singer too and actor......i wonder how he sounds?.....and i do hope they do credit to Marvin.......

he does remind you of Marvin with that smile.
I didn't know about Jesse's singing experience. but I just assumed it'd be a voiceover type thing, like Ray. so this oughta or better be good.
I wonder if Nona Gaye will make an appearance. she was pretty good in Ali.
but Jesse Martin has done some good work on good shows. so the movie should be quality work, unless the director is on another planet or something trippy.

actually, Danza's show is pretty good, just don't watch many talk shows lately, including Oprah

He was in "Rent" as well. I'm sure dude has a pretty nice voice... Any word on who the director is? That will say a lot about how good the movie will be.

Just heard the Marivn gaye pic will only show his life from 1970 till his death..Bascilly when he was in exile in england and returned to the states only to die! It'll also show how his manager, freddy Cousort helped him. CRAP! Shame on Motown for not wanting to give up the rights to the story

that's messed up. and I would have thought Motown would have loved to help out in any way. or maybe they weren't asked. either way Motown is a major part of MG

Motown wouldn't even let Bio channel use the music they had rights to in the background of their biography of him.
