Dear Mr. Pryor,
I am just one of your many fans and I am also trying to break into the comedy world. I currently work in Sydney Australia where I live with my hubby and child but I am an African- American gal originally from Huntington, Long Island, NY. I live and work here now because my husband is Australian (the only reason a New Yorker would move half way around the world). No ring no move baby!!
Anyway my question is if you can remember when you first started out, how much time did you dedicate to the craft? In other words how much time did you spend creating new material (writing), practicing the new and old material and doing research (listening to your comic heros/reading ect).
No one has been able to give me a straight answer to this and I am the type of person who needs to be focused to accomplish anything. Your advice woulld be most appreciated.
Thanks again for being you and doing what you do.
xoxo
Daria

We would LOVE to read "Pryor Convictions & Other Life Sentences" Your life story is as important to aspiring comedians as Christ's life story is to Christians. Unfortunately, it's no longer in print. SO the only way for us to get our hands on a copy of it is to buy it at auction. I don't know if you've ever checked out Barnes&Noble.com or any other rare book websites, but your book ain't cheap. It ranges anywhere from $60 to over $300 and that's for a used, unsigned copy!!! Would you ever consider re-publishing it? Maybe you could even add a chapter about living with MS & how inspite of it you're still grateful to God for being here. Just a thought. Whatever decision you make in regards to re-publishing it, we will respect & support cause WE LOVE YOU!!!

Oh THANK YOU JENNY!!! You're so sweet. Please feel free to call me Luchia that's all I go by on stage. We Italians can get away with that one name shit ya know. First you had Sinatra, then you had Madonna and now you got me
Please tell "The Man In Charge" that I'm extatic about the re-release of his book. I went into a "Rare Book" store in Manhattan a few weeks ago. They had a copy but the snooty bitch wanted $425!!! I said $425 for a used, unsigned autobiography about a man who's STILL alive? Are you out of your mind lady?!! I can go to the .99 cent store and pick up a book about a Man who not only died but came back
On my way home I thought I wonder what Mr. Pryor would think if he saw some snooty ol white woman, who looked like she ain't been fucked since the Nixon administration, making money off his life story?

I'll gladly wait for ya all to re-publish it. I don't have $425 to spend on a used book and even if I did, I wouldn't buy it from that snooty bitch.
