Actually, I welcomed some of his comments because they brought out fantastic responses. The article sent by deepseas showing the comparisons with Cuba was nothing short of genius!! What I like about this forum is that it has a large range of topics (from the serious to the plain silly), And it's great that people from all walks of life, different backgrounds, races, ages and affiliations can discuss matters of the day....or just talk shit!

I didn't like the insults, because I felt that it cheapened the gravity of the topic. But it's always good to hear differing opinions, it's just a shame that he couldn't maintain his defence, because it would've brought out some interesting dialogue.

For those who wanna just hurl insults....there's always the Snaps section, but speaking from experience....it can get kinda rough in there!!!

Actually, I wasn't referring to you with regards to the insults. What I was trying to say was that the guy who was pro-Bush would've made his point better if he didn't jump in and start cussin people. If he'd just made his point and showed his reasoning (like you did) then I'm sure that people would've respected his right to an opinion (even if they disagree with it). The problem was when he started off cussin.... everybody wants to join in. I think that you handled it well, because the info on Cuba was something that I hadn't considered. So the fact that I have learned something today means that I am glad that the exchange took place.

I hadn't been around for a few days to see all what has taken place. I am with ya too!!!

I was about to apologize to the Bushie we are refering to because at first I thought I had offended a volunteer concerning their work. Hey, if I am wrong than am wrong and I have no problems admitting it and apologizing when it is called for. I made a correction to one of my post for that very reason. Then I started reading his other replies and the insults and just figured fuck it. It's one thing not to agree with someone's point of view but the insulting name calling on his part was not necessary. From his name and work motto I'd say it's someone who swallows spooge for a living. I also got the impression he was bragging about sitting in the dome and working at the same time so that suggests possible red cross employment.
The only thing I could think to do was agree with everything he was saying and suggest we hook up for a beer later but I didn't want anybody thinking I was serious, other than him.

If he wouldn't have went for the shock bullshit it would have been fun watching Trudy and Deepseas kick his ass.

I don't know about redneck cause just like any group there tends to be those that don't exactly fit the type. I know some people that consider themselves redneck - old truck, mullet hair, loud music but they get it. They know that Bush doesn't care about the middle class and poor. I've work with a few like that and they are pretty cool. I guess they would be more of the good ol boy types. Simple, harmless and man do they throw one hell of a party and everyone is welcome! Then there are the other rednecks - confederate flag displayed in the truck window, and anyone that doesn't support the president must be a communist So I think Bushies would be a better name for them since that covers all the Bush fans!
