Steve Harvey on Detroit Radio

Had Steve Harvey here this week hosting the morning show on Mix 92.3FM. He's in the running for the job as they are trying to fill the void left by Tom Joyner who moved over to another competing station. i guess he wanted too much money or something. But they've been auditioning different potentials for about four months now and Steve was by far, the BEST yet, hands down. I mean some of everybody has auditioned: Donnie Simpson(BET fame), Blair Underwood, Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat. Hell, even Lindsey Hunter from the Detroit Pistons is gonna give it a whirl next week. But Steve just came in and completely rocked the house! you wanna talk about funny! Dude had me laughing from the time he went on air to the time he got off three hours later. And he was inspirational in a lot of stuff he said. The people he brought with him were really great also. Very funny group. I heard he had a great show in L.A. and they defintely need to go with him here. it would really be something great for Detroit and some welcome comic relief from all this tragedy going on.
Also, the DJ's at the other black stations SUCK! One of them is one of the guys from an old rap group 3rd Bass, MC Serch! (you ol heads know what I'm talkin about) 3rd Bass, MAN! Come on!
He may mimic Mr. P's style of comedy, but if anybody can do it successfully, it's Steve Harvey. He can defintely carry on that torch.
He is truly a multi-talented entertainer fo real! Big ups to Steve and keep doing whatcha doin, bro.

Murphdogg,
Bubba Sparks? I don't know him at all. He say the same thang but slower than y'all! But seriously, I don't know what happened to him.
As for Steve Harvey, of course he was going to do better than those other guys. He's a comic!

mojones,
yeah, and that's exactly what you need in the morning...COMEDY! Donnie Simpson actually got on the subject at length about AIDS at one point in his show. Not something you want to get into at 8am in the morning. Serch was cool as a rapper, but that morning show SUCKS ASS! They cater to the no-thinkers...the 50 Cent listeners of the world (yes, I can't stand tha muthafucka...WHAT!???)lol It's just gutter humor. Russ Parr kinda thrives on that also, but he has some funny moments in there, especially with his impersonations of celebrities. I just wanna hear some smart comedy on my morning show and Harvey MORE than provided it this week.

dougdigitalpro,
Finally, somebody who hates 50 Cents as much as I do. Oh and Steve Harvey has that ingratiating personality that's ideal for radio. I like Simpson for old times' sake. But you're right. Nobody wants to hear more misery after Katrina. You can only take so much.

mojones,
Exactly! Yeah, and I was pulling for Donnie to do good and thought that was an excellent idea considering he's from Detroit. But when it all came down, he was just.... dry! And not very funny.
And I hope that goddamn movie of 50 Cents crashes and burns spectacularly when it comes out. Maybe that'll stop the madness of what's supposed to be his so-called career.

dougdigitalpro,
50 Cents is the product of slick marketing. It certainly isn't for his rappin' skills. The dude can hardly enunciate. Evidently, one of those 9 bullets he took was in the mouth. His hits could literally be hits for anyone. His work so generic. Take Candy Shop, it's the beat and beat alone that sells that song. Vanilla Ice could've had a hit with that thang...
I do hope Harvey gets it. I like the dude. Whatever became of his BIG SHOW? I hate to say this, but I hated that program. Go back to scripted television again. The worse Steve Harvey show was better than the best of Big Show. If the average citizen were entertaining, we wouldn't need entertainers.

mojones,
Well, give it up to the NEW morning host of 92.3FM Mr. Steve Harvey! He came and just blew the doors off the place fo real! He starts broadcasting here Oct. 3rd and if you guys want to check it out you can listen to it live from the 92.3 website. I knew he was gonna get it. I wasn't even worried. The only other competition who was even close was Duane Martin and Tisha Cambell and both of them have TV shows , so I don't know how they thought they could do a radio show every day. I wonder is Steve moving here to do this. I guess he'll have to. He'll defintely be a shot in the arm of this city. Man, I forgot about that "Big Show" thig he had. I never even saw an episode of it. Just didn't look very good, but not because of Steve, just not a very good idea.
