I was trying to contact my buddy who is the lead siger of a local band named Bigfoot Flaps all that came up on search engine were monster truck links. I use to like monster trucks when I was was young so I figured check out the fourm and I'm shocked at what I found

Of the topics on this fourm was the looting in the big easy

To me he's just an idiot....not a "white" idiot or a "black" idiot.....just an idiot period.

That's not to say that he'll always be an idiot, but right now at this present moment in time he's pretty much got the Oscar nomination for idiots sewn up.

Some people hold on to their prejudices because the hate gives them comfort, others do it out of ignorance. Sadly Ignorance and hatred know no colour, race, creed or sex. As I said in another thread, it is pitiful that in the light of such a devastating disaster people want to posture and judge on the basis of race.

We're all mostly striving to overcome our many differences and embrace our similarities. None of us can claim perfection in this field, but we are at least trying. Yet there are some for whom their ignorant opinions are set in stone, such folks are a waste of oxygen.

You'd think that during such a terrible disaster people would find a way to celebrate their humanity by simply being....more human.

Well, I'm always quite optimistic, I believe that change has occurred and is continuing to occur. I think that the south has come a long way in terms of behaviour and attitude. I know that in the Snaps section I was running jokes about it, but realistically, some parts of the South are more progressive in terms of race-relations than London (which is always hailed as a multi-cultural heaven!)

Old habits and prejudices die hard, and you can't force people to love you (who would want such false-love anyway?). All that you can do is demand that they respect you and let them keep their petty snide comments to themselves, their bubble has already burst....they are just too dumb to realise it. At the end of the day, the opinions of fools can only ever be foolish.

as for this bloke.... i honestly don't think people bombarding him is going to change his mind. i mean, i don't know what the answer is really but i think bombarding him would probably cement what he thinks.

you are right......you cannot make anyone love you or like you....an you would not even want that kind of love ......an as to bombarding this guy......people like this expect that....they love it....they want a reaction.....an the more bombardment the more people responding to that kind of post....is what the guy wants anyway.....it is better to just not reply....and pay less attention to it
