Yo bingolong,

As a fan of the FF comic, I can't bring myself to see this movie. Not even on video. There are several reasons why, but the nail in the coffin was the treatment of Doctor Doom. As you know, he's supposed to be like a cross between Darth Vader, Fidel Castro, and Merlin the Magician. He's a monarch. He is almost unstoppable. There's a much better description here: http://aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=20769 - FF Characters'
It just seems like they missed a huge opportunity. The Incredibles hit the nail on the head as far as the FF flavor.

bingolong,
8-o I am so glad I do not listen to critics because they have actually said something was not good...then I go see the movie and its excellent. I don,t know how they determine what good and whats bad...but sometimes they ass is wrong.

I viewed FF and had a good time. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously. Despite the so-called summer box office slump (that FF corrected, BTW) we went out and viewed more movies than in the recent past. My picks for the best:

1. Batman Begins
2. War of the Worlds
3. Fantastic Four
4. Land of the Dead
5. Star Wars: Revenge of Sith

Out

Yeah on another note Crash was a good early summer flick ( which I didn't check out until the summer) and I am about to to see if Terrence Howard is as good in "Hustle & Flow" B-)
