Jennifer,

Damn right! That's copyright infringement. How dare Richard steal those beats from him to use under his vocal track! Who does he think he is? ]:o)

bingolong,
Here is the bottom line---As an example, when NWA and many others sampled Richard, back in the day, noone was paying respect or paying money---that has all changed...most people now ask permission and do it the right way but for those who still don't...there are two ways to handle these issues:
the easy way and the hard way...for those who choose the later, no problem, I have grown accustomed to that and that can be easy!!
(Dre loves RIchard so much and finally, after much encouraging(LOL), put his money where his mouth was and did pony up) B-)
It is about respecting the man and his work...

Jennifer,
Yeah I was reading in Entertainment Weekly this past week where now you have to pay for every sample whether it is noticable or not,the 80's are long gone you got to pay to play nowadays...

I think all dj hajez did was just make a song where if it was played on the radio it would be "Richard Pryor featuring DJ Hajez on the tight ass beats!!"

Me on the other hand I know I would have to make all royalty checks payable to [/i]Indigo,Inc[/i] cause I would have Richard straight up doing verses with me to where he was a third member of my group....speaking of which .... :( b.b
