Hey, i'm a new guy here so forgive me if there is already a thread i should be introducing myself in, i did look first i promise.

My name is Mark, im 23 from the UK. I was so stoked to find this site on the net, i found richardpryor.com a few years back on the net, but back then it was just a few pictures with a mini bio. Since the 'Wanted' dvd finally got a UK release my sheer admiration for Richard Pryor was re-born, and on revisiting i was amazed to see how things have changed.

This is a superb site paying homage to a true true legend. I do not know of a single human being who does not know the name Richard Pryor, whether it be for his films, his stand up or his albums.

Admittedly i am unable to appreciate the full extent of the brilliance in some of Richard's more topical material due to my age, however i truly believe that his act is ageless. I have watched Sunset Strip, Here and Now and now Wanted too, many many times and never tire of a single moment, there is so much accurate quoteable dialog that sticks in the mind.

Now that i know of this community, i only hope that i can learn more about Richard, and access more of his material that isnt as readily accessible in the UK.

I am so, so happy to have found a place where i can share my love for one of my all time heros, with other like minded fans, not just people who have seen "brewsters millions" or heard about him on an Eddie Murphy set.

Richard, you have inspired me to be my own person, to speak my mind and live MY life - THANK YOU! B-)

barley,
That is the beautiful thing about his shit man!!The stuff that I appreciated as a teenager and the stuff I appreciate now as an adult are completely different. He gets better with age (or life experience b/c that was what most of his comedy was based on.)As a teenager it was the "PUS-SAY and the "be home by 11" bit.Now as an adult it's more of the political and social topics but the great thing is that most of if not all of his comedy is timeless and still pertinent years later!!!

Anyway welcome to the site!!! :)
