I was first introduced to Richard through the children's show he did in the 80's Pryor's Place. I really wish I could remember more than having watched it. Not long after that my parents got a copy of Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip. Sadly being only 8 I didn't understand over half of the material. It was the same with the only other person as funny as Pryor, George Carlin. I didn't know what was going on till I was older. One thing he did that I did understand at that age was The Toy. I can remember going to see it with my mom.
Now I understand all his material. I just wish I had known of him earlier. I feel that I am a better person for knowing the genius of Richard Pryor.
