A strange stillness dwells
in the eye of the horse,
a composure that appears
to regard the world from
a measured distance...
it is a gaze from the depths
of a dream...
-Hans Heinrich Isenbast

We are trying to save 25 pregnant mares from slaughter. They're in Manitoba, Canada and the destination is a Texas sancuary. The deadline is third week in March-please help with any amount-our goal amount needed for this move is $12,000!
please send donations to: United Pegasus Foundation

smjmcomic,
Twelve horses-including two pregnant mares have recently arrived at a Black Beauty Ranch a sanctuary in Texas-there are many more to help!!
Thanks for asking-
I went to the Genesis Awards this weekend, awards are given to people who have majorly contributed to the animal liberation movement-it was awesome and a life changing event!
I can no longer eat anything with a face! Not after the footage I saw! I am also contributing to radical grass roots organizations who liberate in big ways! ;)

smjmcomic,
Hi. I just wanted to re-emphasize what Jennifer was saying about the United Pegasus Foundation. They're doing such great work in rescuing all these pregnant mares and foals.....they just need to find good homes for all of them. I try to send them donations and also buy stuff at their store. So many of the PMU farms are closing down because they're realizing (after 65 years) that Premarin is bad for women. So this problem of rescuing the horses will continue for years I'm afraid. I also try to tell any menopausal women I know to seek out natural alternatives. They are out there. Also, it is the responsibility of OUR generation to say "enough" to the giant pharmecutical companies. ( and to leave the horses alone)

Sorry for the rant. :)

thecreatist,
Hey. Thanks for your interest in the PMU horses and their foals. They're doing a huge rescue right now and adopting the horses out all over the country, so every little bit helps. Their address is United Pegasus Foundation. 102 S. First Ave. Arcadia, CA 91006 Their phone is 626-279-1306. Their website is Unitedpegasus.com and they have a lot of great information on their site. Good luck and have a blessed day. We'll ALL miss Rodney. :)
