That Everytime I do any type of politcal jokes I get nothing but boo's and blank stares? I swear I would have never thought that LA was a Pro Bush kinda city everytime I do a anti Bush joke it back fires and and piss's evetybody off why would these jerk off defend this guy?
If I keep facing close minded stupid crowds my days as a comic might be numbered.

smjmcomic,
I think that crowds sometimes get uncomfortable when they think a comedian is deciding their viewpoint for them, especially when it's a random group of people who don't necessarily know who you are or didn't come to see you specifically. Whatever, the dead air and blank eyes could change if you just keep hammering at it. Political material has gotten a lot of working, well-known comedians booed offstage too.

billyb0y,
Pretty much how the war is a wast of time and money and how I'd rather see Bush beheaded and I had some killer Ronald jokes man I swear I feel like I have written my best stuff these past few months but if you could listen to some of the crowds I have faced you would never think it.
I make the mistake of not trying to gain the crowd back I tend to get pissed and just pour salt to the wound if one topic seems to offend I just drag it out. My style is really becoming self destructive its really scaring the shit out of me I feel like theres no point to get up there if there just gona take everything I say to heart and get all offended. I don't know why but if I loose them I just like to push them further. A good friend of mine says I'm like Lenny Bruce without the charm and fan base. I'm no Lenny Bruce.

smjmcomic,
I think everyone, deep down, is a comedian...just look at Washington(although they don't know that they are).
You should make sure that [/i]YOU[/i] have a good time and the hell with everyone else.
And listen to what Nick says....keep pounding it home.
But I wouldn't do nice and fluffy jokes and then try a "beheading" joke.
That a very sore subject nowadays anyway.
I have faith in you.
Bill
