So what do you guys think of the first "rock star" president
Bill Clinton and his new book and tour. If I didn't know better, I'd think he was running for president again!
I notice a lot of his answers in interviews are the same.
He was definitely the democrats answer to Ronald Reagan.
Only he wasn't the so-called devoted husband that Ronnie baby was. I think he is a reflection of his times though. Therapy and Viagara!

But he did make us feel good and secure and he was a genuinely good and pro active president.
And what's up with Al Gore? Is he losing his mind or what?

He's been on a fuckin' tirade the last couple of days with Bush. Should've did this in 2000 I think. A little late on the come up Al!
Ok, well I'm off to a midnite showing of Farenheit 9/11.
I'll give my review when i get back.
Wish me luck! ;p

dougdigitalpro,
Damn I miss Clinton. Ok he cheated on his wife, but we all had a fucked up uncle in our family. You know that uncle that was charasmatic and funny as hell and you knew he was wrong, but you loved him because he was family. And honestly, who was more moral, a potsmoking horny toad like Billy Clint or the Mass Murdering Greedy Lying Shit heap we have now?

dougdigitalpro,
I don't know if it's leagal, but if I was John Kerry I would investigate if Bill Clinton could be his vice presidential nomination.
It would be a landslide I think!

billyb0y,
From the Constitution:
Article XII.
...But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.
Amendment XXII
Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once...

dougdigitalpro,
AL Gore's biggest problem is that he has no self confidence. Everyone I have talked to that knows him says that in person he can be even more charming than Clinton, but when he gets in front of a podium...
Supposedly, before getting up to re-nominate Clinton at the Dem convention in '96 he said "I hope I don't fuck up." That is the absolute WORST thing to say before going on stage. If Al had just been himself he would have beat Bush. If he had been nearly as animated as he's been lately he would have won. Hell, if he had grown the beard and gained the weight during his campaign he might have won. Al Gore ran possibly the worst campaign ever. The only thing he could have done worst was the Michael Jackson baby & a balcony bit.
Al is able to be animated now because there is no pressure on him... I'd really like to sit down and talk with him. Maybe over some Tennessee burbon.

JTF,
I agree with you on Al and his two identities. I remember once around 1998, he popped up on a radio broadcast on an urban station here in Detroit and he was so open and comfortable. It was tripping me out how at ease he was talking this DJ's and how funny he was and it really contrasted the public image of this stiff, unfunny guy we had come to know and ever since I heard that, I was always waiting and hoping that the guy I heard that morning would finally show up in Washington. I guess he never really did.

dougdigitalpro,
I remember when he hit Detroit in '98. I was doing afternoons at WGPR and all I heard were sirens. I looked out the window on East Jefferson and saw this motorcade that was so damn long!
What station was he on? It looked like he was coming from downtown so he was prolly on either MXD, JLB or QBH. Ahh, I miss The Queen. She was always nice to me...

JTF,
You were a DJ at WGPR? What was your call name? I believe it was MXD, but I think it was a call in, not an actual visit. I remember when he came here though for that visit.
GPR has gotten a lot better in recent years. They do mostly obscure R&B that nobody else is playing and ol' school. They're kinda like what the old 105.9 used to be when it was WJZZ. Remember that? Oh, tha good ol' days!

dougdigitalpro,
I was J.T. Johnson. I was only there from 95-99. Foody brought me in before they kicked him out the door. I mostly did overnights, but had a little while on afternoons. It sounds kinda like JZZ now because Rose is the PD there now.
They fired me beacuse "I had stopped being a team player." The truth is that I was sick of the B.S. THe funny thing is that I heard that 2 weeks later they fired Reggie Reg and he went crazy, outside screaming and shit! THe security guard stopped him just outside the door as he left after his shift. She gave him an envelope that contained his pink slip and locked him out... When they had canned me it was in a meeting and I couldn't have been happier! I guess when you miss a mandatory meeting while suspended they don't like it after all! I got my unemplayment, and used it to move to NYC!

JTF,
Damn man. Incredible story. Yeah, I remember the great Foody and Reggie Reg and all them cats.
Yeah, I just recently got fired from a bullshit job I was in while making my movie and I couldn't be happier. Got my unemployment and I'm just chillin' for the whole summer. Recuperating from my film project. I deserve that much after what i went through. I didn't realize how burnt out I was until I sat my ass down and really took a rest.
Was Rose the one that fired you?
I kinda like the alternative spin they have over there now, especially compared with JLB and 105.9. Those are some truly jacked up stations to listen to. GPR even does old jazz classics from the 50's & 60's on Saturday nights after midnite. Mr. P would probably dig tha shit outta that. Old Miles and Coltrane joints.
