I said from the time that it was announced that this man had been kidnapped that the only way to deal with it was to publicly execute one of the guys that they wanted freed. It is not likely that they were going to release him under any circumstances. If you kill one of their friends every day until he is freed maybe it would make them think. They'd probably just kill him anyway, but then you just off all their buddies. They are wasting valuable oxygen anyway...

Everyone I knows brings up the Geneva Convention, but that was adopted when you had a war and you wore a uniform, and your enemy wore a different uniform.
In Iraq the American forces have no idea who the enemy is.
This war has become a “gutter fight” and if you want to survive it, you must get in the gutter.
Which would you rather, standing naked in front of a female soldier or maybe you’d prefer a cruise missile coming through your bathroom window and hitting you in your forehead.
Which is more humane?
The sad part of this whole situation is that most of these insurgents are not Iraqi at all.
This is a holy war and fighters from all over the Middle East are coming into Iraq to kill Americans or anyone else who helps us.
