Are there really any "Nexts"? More than a comic, Richard painted pictures with words unlike any before him. Maybe Richard was more succintly the next Picasso. He wasn't the next Red Fox or Lenny Bruce, he stands alone. Eddie was different, Chris Rock is different, all three stood on the proverbial comedic precipice in their time. Oh but I forgot, Eddie fucked a transvestite prostitute and took the commercial high road. Nevermind.

c'mon..I love Rich and all but Murphy was the man in his day..and like Damon Wayans said on the richard pryor special,"If you didnt steal anything from Richard, chances are your not that funny" Every comic has stole from the man!
