I don't know the owners at the Comedy Underground here, but the two guys who run the place are super badass. Karl is a crazy, great guy and Ron is apparently a really good guy to know for networking. I've just recently started to hang out on days that he's been there, and he's already put me up on stage on non-open mic nights, which Giggles *never* did. He even offered 15 minutes up to me Tuesday night, he said in the event a crowd actually showed up, which I've never gotten that sort of offer at the place, and he's just like,"Yeah... 15 minutes for you and then him and then this other guy headlining."
The Underground is the kickin' club. I was reading a Patton Oswalt inteview where he specifically mentioned that and Cobb's as being one of the least restrictive and being good for comedy.
Frankly, that's the best thing that other owner did. And I wish him hell for it.
