jane_haze,
I forgot some good 'uns that needed to be said.
Adele Givens (suberb)
Rene Hicks (but no barbequed...)
Kathleen Madigan
Wanda Sykes (how'd we miss her?)
I refrained from saying Rock, Chappelle, Carlin, etc. because everyone says them. Yes, we know that they are good. I have all the respect for them and marvel at their success.
Shows and fame is great and all, but it's these working comedians that I really like. It's that raw, gritty feel of watching these full timers do there thing. It's so awesome to see the evolution of peoples jokes from show to show or year to year. I love stand-up. When I grow up, I wanna marry it....I just hope the government doesn't have a problem with that.

jane_haze,
I've seen some Kevin James stand-up that's pretty damned funny. It's not cutting edge or life-changing, no, but funny... and for that he gets props. And... weren't you the one who "snuck" Chris Hardwick on there? Hello, Pot. I'm Kettle. Nice to meet you.
P.S. I'm a woman. Otherwise, I've been buying a shitloada bras and bleeding once a month since puberty, for no reason.

vivaknievel,
My bad. I'll correct that.
Chris Hardwick *is* good. Forget singled out, that was years ago under the oppresive mtv leaders. He got chubby and funny. A "slave trade of hilarity" or a "pandora's box of excitement!", he is. He's good.
Proops, IzZard, Griffen, Saunders...all very good in my book. And the rest, but those are some I would put on my personal favorite list.
We, as a group, have already dismissed Kevin James and his huge muffin.
Some of my peeps on my list aren't cutting edge or life changing either...they've just made me laugh...hard.
See..this is a comedy discussion..it's cool.
Pot.
Oh! And Tom Rhodes!

jane_haze,
Ah, there's no offense taken. And none meant. We're all just having fun. I missed the Kevin James bashing. haha
Oh, I think Hardwick is funny too - I never held Singled Out against him. It was his way to get in the door, you know? People have done and will do worse. I was just saying both fellas are ones I think are funny, even if I'll never have immaculate conception as a result. haha
