So do we. Who doesn't like music?

Charo was swapped for Legs Diamond, "a diamond is a hard rock" the song:
"I think I got it, I think I got it from you..
I think I got it, I don't know what to do..
I think I got it, tell me the truth..
I aint been screwin around so who's been screwin with you.."

bumperhead,

Actually my lil kid brother sorted me out with them. There's one that was done at Columbia University with Lord Finesse which is a classic! Also check out KRS's freestyle on the 3rd Funkmaster Flexx mixtape...he rips it up!

KRS is like a Rap Legend over here, he still sells out. My favorite tune is "Mc's act like they don't know", it's close to perfection!

I'm gonna be stateside back in NYC next week. So if you hear of some crazy London black guy buying up old Richard Pryor records....and trying to impress the ladies with his accent....then it's me! B-)

Peace gee

I still buy krs all the time. I remember the Funk flex tape. By the way, Funk flex and the station he works for, hot 97 is the absolute ENEMY of hip hop. I remember a couple of years ago when they hung up on Krs live on the air! Guess they didn't like that he was sayin' that negative hip hop leads to violence. Flex also wouldn't give it up to Nas the night ether came out. Too concerned with sales to notice skills. Anybody who heard the calls to the radio that night know the result! Jigga didn't just lose, he was crushed. Damn revisionist history. Check krs out at the temple of hiphop website. I like Johnny Cash, I'm sure krs does. Bow to the man in black. Give to the red cross.

bumperhead,
I should point out that it actually wasn't Flex who hung up on Krs. It was on a show called Street Soldiers.

bumperhead,

Yeah, I remember when "Ether" came out on the radio as an exclusive, I was with a friend of mine about to drive across town, we just stopped the car and listened to every word....Nas is a lyrical http://www.richardpryor.com/forums/msgs ... 48&forum=6 - genius' (as many other geniuses would agree!)

KRS came over here to London a few years back and had a whole debate on the radio about how Hip Hop is being misused, he totally took over the whole show. He didn't seem to care about promoting his latest single or whether they played his back catalogue, he just spoke reality for over an hour and then left the studio!

As for Johnny Cash, did anyone see him when he starred in that episode of Colombo? They keep repeating it over here....it's a gem! The Man in Black walks the line.....until Colombo busts his ass!

Peace gee (listening right now to "Genius of Love" by the Tom Tom club!)

Appaloosa,

I'm sorta afraid to admit this, but Paul McCartney's Chaos and Creation in the Backyard.

I'm mixed as to whether I like it or not. I have a very huge underlying prejudice when it comes to his music, and the deep rooted emotion wants to think every thing he does is emaculate. Then, my evolving and maturing brain would like to discredit any of his work based on a rebellion from his current lifestyle and saying it's all lame.

So...I've got to keep listening to it until I can be honest with myself and come to a consensus. Once I figure that out, I'll tell you if I recommend the whole CD. Though "Fine Line" and "Friends to go" I'm really diggin....
