Oh Bobby D.... WTF did you do?

Post by SweetLuchia »

I rarely watch television anymore b/c there's nothing worth watching but last night I went out for a drink with a friend and above the bar was a television and on the television I happen to see a commercial for American Express done by Robert DeNiro 8-o

Are you kidding me? One of the most prolific actors of his generation and he BARKS for American Express?!?!?!@.@

Bobby you already make these Corporate POWER TRIPPEN PRICKS millions & millions of dollars per year with your movies... WHY IN THE NAME OF JESUS WOULD YOU HELP MAKE THEM MORE MONEY...AREN'T THEY POWERFUL ENOUGH AS IT IS?

It's one thing if you're an undiscovered, starving actor doing what you can to make ends meet but YOU are Robert fuckin DeNiro! The INTEREST alone on your money is more than most people make in a year...so why in the fuck do you need MORE ]:o(

"How many THINGS can you buy? How much SHIT do you need?!" :X

I thought I saw it ALL when I saw Madonna shakin her ass for The Gap but I was fuckin WRONG wasn't I?!?! ]:o(

As Michael said to Freddo in The GodFather Part 2...You broke my heart Bobby...YOU BROKE MY HEART!!! :( b.b

Jennifer,

I'm sure they did but is ANY amount of money worth cheapening his place in entertainment history?!? :(

He's even more special to us the Italian/American community. My father absolutely LOVED him. He's probably turning in his grave knowing he SOLD OUT!

I just can't believe it! Out of ALL of the entertainers in this country, I never dreamed DeNiro could be bought! NEVER! 8-o :(

They took great pains to make it seem like a PSA for NYC but no matter how they "dressed it up" it's still a commercial..it's still a sell out b.b

SweetLuchia,

De Niro Upsets Fans with American Express Ad - http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/#2'

Robert De Niro has angered fans by making a rare TV commercial appearance in a controversial new American Express advert directed by pal Martin Scorsese. The movie legend is shot by the director walking around his beloved New York explaining why the Big Apple is so important to him in the grainy black and white ad. The emotive commercial also montage footage of policemen, fireman, old- timers and basketball players. But shots of Ground Zero and De Niro's comment "My heartbreak" in the 30-second commercial have upset many fans, who deem the images inappropriate for an American Express commercial. One angry New York fan on the Digital Spy Internet chat site has blasted the actor and Scorsese for their insensitivity. He fumes, "For a guy who's supposed to love the city, you'd think he'd show a bit more class... Using a tragedy to sell a product stinks." But De Niro's decision to shoot the commercial was an easy one - American Express largely funds his annual Tribeca Film Festival.
I went to Zimbabwe. I know how white people feel in America now; relaxed! Cause when I heard the police car I knew they weren't coming after me!
