analizing a bad set..

Post by Murphdogg »

one of the hardest things for me to do is go over a bad set in my mind. It feels so freakin horrible when a set goes wrong on you, you have the tendancy to want to put it behind you and not think about it. Last night I had my first bad set in a long time, I was feeling horrible intill I made myself face it and figure out what went wrong with it. I had a table talking through my set, but they were talking quietly..instead of ignoring it I went after them pretty viciously..turns out they were the judges of the singing contest i was doing a guest set for, so the crowd immedietly turned on me after that, and I kept going back to clowning on them with the crowd getting pissed. So I feel a lil better now that I know what I did wrong..but still have all those bad feelings in my guts from doing bad. And the only thing I've found to cure that is to get back up on stage and rip. I was wondering what the other comics on the board did to deal with bad sets.

Jennifer,
hahahahha, how do you think I got all riled up in the first place? I got my mojo back the next night but man, something in me sometimes makes me just attack a crowd and turn them against me..not sure what that's all about.

Murphdogg,

Go into the City and try it. Maybe to the Castro District, and you'll get some "AMEN, girlfriend"s, I'm sure.

They don't like to judge, from what I hear. Oh yes, and wear your leopard print jacket when you do it.

Just watch your asshole on the way out.
