I would like to sincerely thank all of you who have consistently offered your support on behalf of displaced wildlife. Urgency for financial assistance increases sharply every Spring with hundreds of wild animals that are orphaned. The poor wild animals are still suffering horribly as they are driven before the bulldozers. The “Better Jacksonville Plan” did not include the welfare of local wildlife.
Our long term goal is to establish a new wildlife center, primarily for mammals, which would generate funds by providing a showcase of Florida’s native wildlife. This facility could supply a home base for field rescues, a rehabilitation shelter and educational programs for the public. Another part of this project would be to assist in the relocation of wildlife, which would be processed through the center.
Just one dollar from each citizen in Jacksonville would allow us to build a new facility for wildlife. If our project goals for a new wildlife center are not met, thousands of wild animals will suffer from human encroachment. We have definitely seen a link between human and animal cruelty. Therefore, our education programs for children are vital to future generations.
In addition to financial support, materials and services can be donated. At the present time, we need someone to offer computer support and assistance with website maintenance. We also need craftsmen to assist with cage construction and property maintenance. We also need private property owners to offer release sites for rehabilitated wildlife. We hope that you will join in the support of our programs which benefit animals and improve their position in the world in relation to human society. Please help us open a new Wildlife Center, instead of another strip mall or golf village.
