Momof5,
Don't feel bad...me too!
But three of my most memorable experiences:
TINA TURNER - when she was doing her LAST tour ever. Excuse me, but I have to say this! That BITCH IS BAD! That is all I have to say. Much love & respect for that woman!
ROD STEWART & THE POLICE - I L-O-V-E me some ROD STEWART!
RENEE & ANGELA (Brother Johnson was on the show also)- Angela Winbush, that is (later married to Ron Isley). Rode my motorcycle up there to see her, this is when she was married to Renee - and he straight socked her in the head!----while they were on stage! Real messed up shit to see. But Angela bounced back from that shit, just like Tina did. Not as many hits, but a lot of song writing and producing credits.
I have seen Prince, The Time, Vanity & Appolonia 6 (used to be MAJOR Fans), My GIRL - CHAKA!, Mary J Blidge, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Tupac and the whole DeathRow crew, Zapp featuring Rodger Troutman, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Najee, The Whispers, The Ojays, MY MAIN MAN - Rick James (the only other forum I belong to!) & Tina Marie....most recently - the Emotions (older version) & the Jones Girls.
& YES! For ya'll who are tripping on me! I used to ride a motorcycle. I said USED TO. You could not pay my phat ass to get on no Katana today (it was RED and SILVER - flyyyy ass bike)! ;p I used to take my helmet off, shake my hair out and dudes would be like "Oh snap! That is a girl riding that big ass bike!) I used to love that adulation! But I am older and wiser - bikes do not have enough protection! I gave up being a biker girl and now I am a BTD (Big Truck Driver)! Got all the protection I need on the road, now!!!

Re: What Bands/Artist's have You seen live ....
bcddjjsc690,
wow, you saw Ted Nugent? so did I, but I think he was on his last leg when I saw him in the summer of 1980 along w/other bands including REO Speedwagon, Little River Band and Styx
but the rest of my list... and I'll try and go in order of age (and memory) and most of these were in New Orleans. I know there were lots more including other bands/artists performing w/many of these., but these artists stand out most
Ike and Tina Turner w/James Brown (hey I was 5 or 6 yrs. old and still have the suede outfits someone made for us in honor of Miss Tina)
Fats Domino
The Meters
The Neville Bros.
Ellis Marsalis
Dr. John
Jimmy Buffett
Evelyn Champagne King
Leif Garrett (I was 13 or 14 years old and first concert we got to see by ourselves, thought we were grown )
The Jackson 5 ("enjoy yourself, enjoy yourself....", "let's dance, let's shout, shake your body down to the ground...")
The Cold (w/Vance Degeneres, always a good time, esp. the Riverboat concerts)
Rush (got into trouble for this one in high school, still remember the grounding but I snuck out to go and it was in Baton Rouge , but it was well worth it. was rumored to be last tour because band member had cancer. and Neil Peart is one of the best drummers out there, don't care what no one says!)
The Isley Bros.
Journey
AC/DC
Heart
Foreigner
The Rolling Stones
War (had an great time, and one of rare family gatherings w/uncles together)
The Clash
Rene & Angela
Midnight Star
Prince (several times)
The Time featuring Morris Day
Vanity 6
Maze featuring Frankie Beverly (almost annually in New Orleans)
Richard Pryor Live at the Saenger Theater in New Orleans (I still remember him talking about our hot ass weather! )
Natalie Cole (can't remember who she toured with at UNO arena, just remember her)
Howard Hewitt
Robert Townsend
Eddie Griffith - Oakland, CA
The Dells
Tracy Chapman (one strange date, but enjoyed her performance)
The B-52's (always a blast)
Digital Underground
Soul II Soul (one bomb ass concert)
Heavy D (dum di-di-ly-dee)
LL Cool J w/Maya and a whole bunch of other artists, sad I don't remember all their names because it was a sold out summer jam
Mac10 - foe lifeeeee
Big Pun
SWV
TLC ("standing round in holy sheets, scared that you'll be called a freak....")
Etta James
Arrested Development
The Original Kings of Comedy - Oakland, CA and Charlotte, NC
US3 - thanks Bill Brennan of DMA Entertainment who went on to start cdnow.com
biggest regrets: never got to see Led Zeppelin live, or have seen Santana, or Smokey Robinson live yet. and couldn't see a Rick James and Teena Marie concert in Baton Rouge w/friends when I was in high school. they all came back talking about it nonstop. damn, damn, damn....

Re: What Bands/Artist's have You seen live ....
astonamous,
wow. I would still like to see Elton John, as well as the original Earth Wind & Fire and Doobie Brothers (but Keith Knudsen died last year).
and I heard Chicago throws down live. my late uncle enjoyed them as well as The Steve Miller Band and The Allman Brothers.
also another regret on my list was Sir Georg Solti who died before my "appreciation of him" time. his music is in rotation right along w/TuPac I ride hard core huh dawgs? I love the sudden silence and to see the looks on people's faces after Hit 'Em Up fades out and Beethoven's 9th Symphony revs up
w/so many different people around me while growing up, couldn't help but love all music, even heavy metal. but can't find nobody to go to country & western concerts like Willie Nelson's. new age punks!

Re: What Bands/Artist's have You seen live ....
astonamous,
I have seen the south carolina philharmonic 100 times.
My dad used to be the concertmaster.
The coolest was when he played with Henry mancini.
The pink panther theme! Also just before he died.
"The Party" is one of my favorite films with Peter Sellers.
The song "Nothing to loose"is my favorite!
I'm jealous of all yall seeing VAnity 6!
The coolest prince guest was Carmen Electra..she was on roller skates the whole show!
And Larry Graham was awsome.
I always made pics at the concerts.
Here's Joe satriani & George Clinton.
