astonamous,

What happened was Artest fouled Ben Wallace as he went in the paint for a point. Wallace then shoved Artest with two hands to the face. Then both benches cleared onto the court by the scorer's table as the melee continued.
Punches were thrown, and for some reason, Artest was avoiding the fighting while ON TOP of the scorer's table.
At this time, the Detroit fans were throwing cups of ice and beer/liquids at the court, but in particular, at Artest.
One cup hit Artest in his head, sending him in a fit of rage, as he raced through the stands, OVER a few men and women, chasing the culprit and laying fists to his face, knocking the man down cold-and fast. b.b

Crazy shit...but I laughed my ass off... ;)

astonamous,

Alright, let me be more specific, as to not to offend you, as much...

I laughed my ass off when Ron Artest was hit by the cup. 'Jus struck a cord with me, and I laughed. Simple.

And dont punish the children for their parent's stupidity..

First of all the polls at ESPN are blaming the fans 50% s opposed to everything else. What happenned to the term spectator sport.Sports are cool but goddamn that shit ain't worth getting my ass kicked....by a big ass brotha at that!!
That is what I call dedication!!!

Now seriously this is what it looked like to me from the tape let me know if I am wrong:

Ron Artest just got punked and mushed in the face.H edoensn't get involved with the fight but instead to avoid an ass whuppin' sits his ass over on the side.A fan throws a drink at an already humilated and punked Ron Artest who though he had the commonsense to back down from Wallace was probably still very pissed off and needing to let off his steam....Hell I would have had to whup some ass out in the stands to!!That shit might not be right but it is justified!!!

Okay fights happen there was one at a football game today also I believe. But motherfuckers out in the crowd need to sit they ass down or take a couple to the jaw!!!

Jennifer,

The side effects of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs?

Or just plain garden variety emotional malfunctions.

RDixon,
It's the curse of Detroit again. This city is known for making something great only to screw it up. That's why i want outta here! ]:o(

dougdigitalpro,

Don't fall into the trap of blaming this on Detroit! You know as well as I do that the Pistons have nothing to do with Detroit other than the name. I'm a Knicks fan. They play the same number of games in Detroit that the Pistons do, but they don't feed the suburbs of Detroit who let Detroit take the black eye on events like this while retaining their pristine status. ]:o(

bingolong,
Oh you know I was coming wit it. I feel ya JTF on how this happened in Auburn Hills but all you here is Detroit this and Detroit that. The tripped out thing is while that was going on in the "pristine" suburbs, the actual "city" of Detroit was celebrating the grand opening of a new park district in the heart of downtown called Campus Martius where Hudson's dept. store once stood. This was a major, major city event and what got reported on the national news?
I'm just tired of the rut Detroit seems to stay in. It seems they almost do it on purpose to keep people from wanting to come here to visit. I can't wait to see what goes down during Super Bowl next year. They're running around downtown like chickens with their heads cut off trying to renovate the entire downtown area that's been sitting in decay and ruins for almost 30 years to accomadate this worldwide event. I just think it's kinda sad and I'm fed up with how this city AND it's suburbs do things. To make this point even more and I'm sure bingo will agree with me on this, I recently visited Memphis, Tenn. and I was blown away with how culturally different they are from Detroiters in the south. They had a nice bustling downtown area that was actually developed and the people were just so friendly and courteous. I almost hated that i had to leave and i was with my crazy ass baby mama for two days so I thought i would be running to get outta there but the city was really great to be in and I enjoyed it all and I'm happy that my daughter is being raised there.
On another point, what's up with Artest promoting his rap CD in interviews since his suspension? Guess he got suspended with no pay, huh?

dougdigitalpro,
Well, I just went back to AOL's main screen and it has the top 25 list of the most dangerous cities in the U.S. and guess who came in at No. 2? So...there you go. No matter what accomplishments this city tries to make, it will always be looked at around the country as a volatile, dangerous place. Shit, the only cities who made the list from Cali were Compton at no. 17 and Oakland at 24. Los Angeles didn't even make the list which proves my theory on Hollywood hyping it to be a lot more dangerous than it really is out there. I'm not saying there's no crime going on, but it's not as dangerous as the media, TV & movies try to make it out to be. If you go by what we've seen here for the last twenty years, you would think LA was one of the most dangerous places on earth and i know it's not. But neither is Detroit, really. Just bad attitudes & dispositions.
