Re: Heirs to Lenny Bruce

<t>Treated myself to the box set for my birthday--what a treasure trove of stuff. I admit I had a lot of fun hearing different versions of the old bits, and some new stuff from Lenny's personal vaults. They did a good job of selecting the later material (no hours of reading court transcripts, thank ...

Re: BaadAsssss!

<t>dougdigitalpro,<br/> BadAsss is a great movie. I wish they had even more money to make it, but Mario really grew as both an actor and a director with this one. It's ironic that this movie came out the exact same day as Soul Plane did in NY and LA. Hopefully this is the flick that will inspire the...

Re: Live in Concert-England

<t>Jennifer,<br/> WANTED is a great audio document of that tour, but is there another version of that show also shot in Long Beach? I remember having an old Movies on TV book that mentioned something like RICHARD PRYOR IS LIVE AND DOING IT AGAIN or something like that. Either it was a re-issue title...

Re: What is your favorite Richard Pryor Performance (Movie,Standup whatever)

bingolong,
"I don't give a fuck" from the Anthology's bonus disc, cos it captures exactly how I feel right now. But Side one of Is It Something I Said will always put a smile on my face. And Which Way Is Up? I wish there were more Richard Pryor-Michael Schultz comedies in this world.

Re: Lenny Bruce

<r>My 2 cents:<br/> Lenny Bruce's Togetherness is the best one. It's on the Same CD as Sick Humor so you can't lose. Non Skeddo Airlines: "A man blew up a plane with 40 people and his mother. For this the state sent him to the electric chair. Which proves that...Americans are losing their sense of h...

Re: Wattstax Review

<r>SweetLuchia,<br/> FYI, we just hosted a screening of WATTSTAX over the weekend here in Philly on the big screen. I've seen it a buncha times before on bootleg, but never realized it's a FUCKIN' GOOD MOVIE. There truly is nothing like it. It capture's Black folks at their highest level of confiden...

NBC DVD SPECS

<r>Richard: Thanks for going the extra mile and loading the Box Set edition of the DVD with all kinds of bonuses and outtakes. Ever since I had the chance to see the 37-minute impromptu Mudbone performance at the Museum of the Moving Image retrospective in LA, it has been my goal to find it and shar...
