Visitor,
They ruled Dallas, Texas the most dangerous city in the US EOY last year. It's a crazy world. Texas is known for it's crimes against children. I'm not from here, thank goodness, but these people here and their obsessions with hurting children is evil! You have to watch your kids carefully but the homegrown parents of Texas....gotta watch some of those suckers! These crimes are the ultimate evil as children are so innocent and precious.

Kitainclaws,
San Antonio is beautiful. It's a great visitor's spot, too!

Visitor,
Houston is the asshole of Texas in my opinion and shouldnt be seen as an example of the whole state.
The Hill Country west of Austin is really what Texas is all about if you want scenic beauty and laid-back friendly people.
How did this thread get started anyway?

Visitor, I do agree that Houston can be a little rough...but San Antonio where I am is awesome. Wasn't born here, only cuz my dad was in the military, but he got us back here before I was two. I don't think I could ever live anywhere else, (well not while my mom is alive...) It's a great laid back party town, I've never experienced any violence is my 40 plus years and so far no crazy weather situations.

Texas does things differently, that's for sure. I lived in Houston for 14 years, and really loved the people, though it is one of the ugliest places on the face of the earth. ..scrubby and hot. My favorite story is the woman who was found dead, strangled with a pair of pantyhose which were found nearby, and the ME ruled it suicide. 8-o.

I think that woman who drowned her kids was crazy rather than mean, and needed to be in a psych hospital and not in prison.
