To the two girls making out in a booth at a cafe on 4th Ave.

The aura of love surrounds you
and though it confounds those who
don't even try to understand you
society's shackles are bound by a weak glue
they are easily broken by an open mind
time after time I find that hope will bind
people together no matter what they treasure
simple pleasures will outlast the roughest weather
Your smiles take me miles past my past
and I outlast the vile styles of those who collapse
with the least little bit of resistance
I'm persistant so never again will I play the victim
I resist them and gain control over the system
love leads us in irresistable directions
we crave acceptance so we manipulate our inflections
to please our loved ones, til it becomes cumbersome
and the sum leads to none, it makes us go numb
Until we overcome and rise through the scum

But the aura of love surrounds you.
