I can't beiieve one Laker fan didn't post something along the lines of...."Hey good call a year ago when you said how good the Laker's were gonna be and good call even though you root for the C's." Reaffirms what I always knew about Laker##(Fill in the blank)...

walrusjk, The Larkers are the team and The Celtics are Worthy opposition. Phoenix needs to sign S.Swift and Steve Francis and A. Walker, Sam Cassel , Robert Horry, Cavs need to sign Joe Smith, The Lakers need to sign Drew Gooden or they will not win the NBA title. It would realy suck if Phoenix with Shaq does not make the playoffs. The Rockets signed James White that dunks like crazy ,but it is only two points. As a Laker fan I hated that they did not get Michael Jordan. In a way he is the best player ever because he took the suck team Bulls and won six rings. All the Bulls teams won very sloppy and it was not fun to watch because of that boering triangle offense that made me sick to my stomach and took the fun out of watching basketball.

EddieHill,
Whoa! Wait. You know how much I enjoy your analysis. I admit you're in a different league than me about knowing the nba...Without looking it up I don't think Jordan made the second round of the playoffs his first 5 years in the nba. He had to wait for Boston, Detroit and maybe even Philly to get old. Jordan wasn't an impact player like Birdy who took a nothing team and instantly turned them into a force. The only way anyone could make a claim that Jordan was the best ever is because of his defense. Wilt clearly was. 200 rule changes back that one up....

walrusjk, I only wish that espn classic would play more games with Wilt in them and somehow enhance the film into HD. I may have only seen a quarter of a game of footage of Wilt in my whole life. I do not know if you have to be a rich person with an NBA archive connection to start a film collection of vintage NBA games. The game tapes are not for sale in stores. The only way I can grasp how awesome Wilt was is by playing NBA Live 01-09, on PS2. Now to the teams. Cavs did good by signing Smith,Phoenix Signed Swift, Spurs Signed Gooden, {Look out!}, Nuggets signed Hart. The Lakes are stupid for not signing another big man.The Spurs are now the cinderella sleeper to win it all.I am surprised Detroit did not get a big man.Everyone wants The Lakers And The Celtics in the finals, but they got to get there first.

EddieHill,
check this out...
With 72 records (68 of which he holds by himself), Wilt Chamberlain dominates the NBA record book. And he's not just the top guy on the lists below. In several cases, he's No. 1, 2 and 3. It's hard to believe that there will ever be another player who can dominate as many statistical categories as the Big Dipper did.

walrusjk,
Andrew is back for LA and the C`s are injured.Portland is the sleeper that have big guys that can punish anyone down low. I hope Shaq ops out because the Suns tried to trade him before the Feb deadline.I do not think Cleveland will win it all this year. Maybe next year after they sign one more allstar free agent .

EddieHill,I think maybe you have a point but LA has more people around him as a cast. I think Dallas is the sleeper in the West although Portland is awfully solid.
Big Baby is gonna have to stay playing good with KG out to have a chance. The C's recently have been averaging 50/game with KG out in the paint. Orlando is picking a bad time to be not stomping everyone so I still like the C's over them. The Cavs scare me more especially since the NBA want a Cav-Laker final. Just don't count the C's out. If the C's make the finals I'll still pick them. I just hope the Lakers have to go through hell to make the finals...
